Reinhard Haudenhuyse has a Master’s degree in Physical Education. He holds an additional Master’s degree in Conflict and Development (Third World Studies) at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of Ghent University. In 2012, Reinhard received his PhD, entitled “The Potential of Sports for Socially Vulnerable Youth”, in Physical Education and Movement Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He currently works as a part time research professor (10%) and post-doctoral researcher at the Sport and Society Research Unit at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium). His current areas of expertise are: community sports, monitoring and evaluation, poverty, social exclusion, social work and policy. Reinhard has authored, co-authored and edited several international and national peer-reviewed publications, and worked together with leading experts in the related field. He further gave several presentations at international and national forums. He is currently promoter of 2 running PhD’s and of the CATCH (FWO – Strategic Basis Research) project.
